Frankfurt, Germany – Saconix International GmbH, Germany, (“Saconix International”) a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saconix LLC, the United States (“Saconix”), announced today that it has acquired the assets of the sulfur export terminal in Brake, Germany from Norddeutsche Erdgas-Aufberreitungs-GesellschaftmbH a Joint Venture of Mobil Erdgas-Erdöl GmbH and BEB Erdgas und Erdöl GmbH & Co. KG.
Saconix International, and its partners LogServ Logistics Services GmbH & Co. KG Brake, Germany, a wholly-owned subsidiary of J. Müller AG, Germany, have designed and intend to construct a newly reconfigured Sulfur Import Terminal at the Port of Brake, Germany (the “Terminal”). The project includes sulfur storage and a solid sulfur re-melting facility with a nameplate capacity of up to 300,000 metric tons annually in a first phase. The Terminal will serve as a primary Northern European import point of entry for solid sulfur sourced globally.
Upon completion the Terminal will have the ability to receive solid sulfur, store solid sulfur, melt solid sulfur and produce high-grade sulfur which will be stored in dedicated molten sulfur tanks. Logistically, the Terminal will be accessible by rail, truck and barge and will have the ability to handle, store, load and unload sea going vessels from its port location. The facility is expected to be fullyoperational in late 2021.
